The Egress business was formed during the largest Oracle HR/Pay implementation ever completed in the world, that being the National Health Service (NHS) Electronic Staff Records (ESR) project. This project successfully delivered a fully managed single instance of Oracle 11i; containing 586 separate NHS organisations, securely separated from seeing one another’s data via the use of Virtual Private Databases. The total number of Employees currently paid through the system is almost 1.5 million, which equates to 2 million Assignment records being paid on a monthly basis. The pay accuracy of ESR is over 99.99%, which is a massive achievement underpinned by accurate, detailed and brilliantly designed data migration processes, supported by bespoke tools to automate as much of the work as possible.
Recently, ESR was upgraded from 11i to Release 12.1.3. It should be noted that ESR contained a significant amount of customised components built specifically for the NHS. This undertaking was planned and managed with an expertise rarely seen in any R12 upgrades to date; the upgrade was fully reconciled and ‘proven’ through extensive use of the Egress VerPay product. VerPay was used throughout all of the testing phases right up to and after go live. VerPay was delivered with an 11i and R12 conversion inbuilt so that it continued to operate seamlessly in both environments.
Egress has taken the processes and tools they created for the implementation and subsequent upgrade of ESR, evolved them through recent Oracle projects and produced a packaged service offering that can be applied any Oracle HCM implementation. Egress can offer a number of engagement models from tools supply through to a fully managed services that guarantees your Oracle implementation of Upgrade project will be a success.
